About Midbar
A software practice for the middle of the work—where scope becomes design, and design becomes something you can ship.
Midbar is a Hebrew word for wilderness: open ground, real constraints, and the long stretch between where you are and where you are going. The name is drawn from that image—not as a slogan, but as a reminder of how real projects feel. The road is hard, the path is not always obvious, and progress takes people who stay with the work.
At Midbar, the process is intentional. A first conversation is about scope: what problem matters, where help is needed, and whether this practice is the right fit at all. That focus protects the work from becoming an endless grab bag of tasks. It also gives you a clear picture of how Midbar can help—and whether more detailed conversations make sense before anything is designed or built.
When we move forward, design is where the picture gets concrete—wireframes, screens, and written agreements about what will be delivered and what you will provide along the way. You approve that picture before development starts. The point is shared accountability: both sides know the path, changes are visible, and the build stays pointed at what was decided.
Day to day, you work with Midbar directly. Progress stays visible through regular updates, so there is no long silence about where things stand. Support means honest guidance on what is realistic, where strengths fit, when a specialist might be needed later, and how to deliver a strong first version without boiling the ocean. The aim is to carry the complex parts of technology so you do not have to staff every discipline at once—and still leave with software you can run.
